A male female Pilot Whale stranded in Brgy Victoria, Currimao, Ilocos Norte this morning. It is now being inspected by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. Picture and report by Dhanjorvan Rasay.

A giant Shovelnose Ray (Rhynchobatus sp.) was found dead along the shores of Brgy. San Miguel, Dulag, Leyte last 9 March.

This is a Wedgefish (Rhynchobatus sp.); several species are known from the Indo-Pacific. Based on the external morphology, this is likely to be a White-spotted Wedgefish (Rhynchobatus australiae). The missing dorsal fins might be an indication that it had been finned.

An Oarfish (Regalecus sp.) was found in Gusa, Cagayan de Oro today.

A marine mammal that looks to be a Pygmy Sperm Whale (Kogia breviceps) stranded on a beach of Barangay Mabay, Maitum this morning. It was well responded to by MENRO Maitum and the community. Latest update is that the animal swam away to Barangay Kalaong after release attempt.
