A young Pygmy Sperm Whale (Kogia breviceps) stranded in Lupon, Davao Oriental yesteday, April 17. The animal was released but it restranded. Supportive care was provided to the animal until it regained its strength. It was deemed fit enough and released on the same day by PMMSN team in Davao composed of BFAR XI FLEU, Bantay Dagat, LGU of Lupon, and MFARMC. Monitoring of the coast is being done in case this animal restrands.

A dead adult critically endangered Dugong (Dugong dugon) was found entangled with the line of a fish trap (bubo) in Brgy. Juvellar, Tarragona, Davao Oriental this morning. The Dugong will be buried today.

A small (probably) Melon-headed Whale was found dead at the coast of Dahican beach at 17:30 on Feb 25, 2016.

Length: 153cm, approx weight: 30kg.

Its details were documented and the body was buried in the sand by Amihan Sa Dahican team.
